Fall 2009 The Qur'an: Israel Is Not for the Jews: Claims to the Holy Land
Jerusalem is holy but Mount Sinai is more holy. Sinai is mentioned far · more often, and Jerusalem isn't actually mentioned [in the Qur'an] by name."[8] If this exegesis is correct, why does the Islamic world from Morocco to Indonesia manifest such hostility to · Israel? Why have so few Muslims noticed that God wants the Jews to possess the Holy Land?

April 25, 2025 - The Qur’an can lay open right in front of them, and you can orate to them just as Muhammad did – in “clear Arabic” – the ayat which attest to the fact that the Qur’an calls the Land of Israel the “Holy Land” and claims Allah assigned it to the Jewish People.

  1. Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:20-21): “And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, ‘O my people, remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds. O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back [from fighting in Allah’s cause] and [thus] become losers.’”

    2. Surah Al-A’raf (7:137): “And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building.”

    3. Surah Al-Isra (17:104): “And We said after Pharaoh to the Children of Israel, ‘Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering.’”

Antisemitism in Islam - Wikipedia
1 week ago - The Muslim holy text defined the Arab and Muslim attitude towards Jews to this day, especially in the periods when Islamic fundamentalism was on the rise. Walter Laqueur states that the Quran and its interpreters have a great many conflicting things to say about the Jews. Jews are said to be treacherous and hypocritical and could never be friends with a Muslim. Frederick M. Schweitzer and Marvin Perry state that references to Jews in the Quran are mostly negative.

What does the Quran say about the Jews? - Backpack Israel
February 17, 2025 - The Quran most often refers to the Jews as “Banu Isra’il,” which means “children of Israel.” It tells us that GOD chose the children of Israel, freed them from slavery in Egypt, and led them into the Promised Land. But it also tells us that the Jews broke their alliance with GOD because they built the golden calf and worshipped it, killed the prophets whom God sent them, like Zechariah the Prophet, and falsified the holy scripture.

The Qur'an: Israel Is Not for the Jews - Middle East Forum
September 16, 2009 - The first author, Robert Spencer, argues that Islamic law has not recognized and will never recognize Jewish rights to this territory. In a second essay, Muhammad Al-Hussaini, a Muslim scholar, understands the text of the Qur’an to award the Holy Land to the Jews for all time, and he holds that Muslims can be convinced of this interpretation.

“But for breaking their covenant We condemned them and hardened their hearts. They distorted the words of the Scripture and neglected a portion of what they had been commanded to uphold. You ˹O Prophet˺ will always find deceit on their part, except for a few. But pardon them and bear with them.“ (5:13) “And remember when Moses said to his people. “O my people! Remember Allah’s favours upon you when He raised prophets from among you, made you sovereign,1 and gave you what He had never given anyone in the world. O my people! Enter the Holy Land which Allah has destined for you. And do not turn back or you will become losers.” (5:20-21)

They have their own take on many figures that also appear in Judaism but they generally don't have a high regard of Judaism. Below are some Koranic materials. However, it helps to treat each religion as a unique system of belief, in this case, it helps to throw out any narratives that they are similar below is an academic lecture critiquing the idea of Abrahamic religions. O Messenger! let not those grieve thee, who race each other into unbelief: (whether it be) among those who say "We believe" with their lips but whose hearts have no faith; or it be among the Jews,- men who will listen to any lie,- will listen even to others who have never so much as come to thee. They change the words from their (right) times and places: they say, "If ye are given this, take it, but if not, beware!" If any one's trial is intended by Allah, thou hast no authority in the least for him against Allah. For such - it is not Allah's will to purify their hearts. For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment. Quran 5:41 The Jews were stamped with humiliation and wretchedness. And when ye said: O Moses! We are weary of one kind of food; so call upon thy Lord for us that He bring forth for us of that which the earth groweth - of its herbs and its cucumbers and its corn and its lentils and its onions. He said: Would ye exchange that which is higher for that which is lower? Go down to settled country, thus ye shall get that which ye demand. And humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they were visited with wrath from Allah. That was because they disbelieved in Allah's revelations and slew the prophets wrongfully. That was for their disobedience and transgression. Quran 2:61 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. Quran 5:51 Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. Quran 5:82 Edit: I cleaned up some of the formatting.

What does the Qur'an say about the Jewish and Christian Scriptures
Thus, the Qur'an is not referring to scripture that Jews and Christians use to possess in the past, but now are lost. Rather, the Torah given to Moses, and the Gospel given to Jesus, is the scripture that is with them (the Christians and Jews) and in their possession at the time of Muhammad.
