Fall 2009 The Qur'an: Israel Is Not for the Jews: Claims to the Holy Land
Jerusalem is holy but Mount Sinai is more holy. Sinai is mentioned far · more often, and Jerusalem isn't actually mentioned [in the Qur'an] by name."[8] If this exegesis is correct, why does the Islamic world from Morocco to Indonesia manifest such hostility to · Israel? Why have so few Muslims noticed that God wants the Jews to possess the Holy Land?

What does the Quran say about Judaism?
“But for breaking their covenant We condemned them and hardened their hearts. They distorted the words of the Scripture and neglected a portion of what they had been commanded to uphold. You ˹O Prophet˺ will always find deceit on their part, except for a few. But pardon them and bear with them.“ (5:13) “And remember when Moses said to his people. “O my people! Remember Allah’s favours upon you when He raised prophets from among you, made you sovereign,1 and gave you what He had never given anyone in the world. O my people! Enter the Holy Land which Allah has destined for you. And do not turn back or you will become losers.” (5:20-21) More on reddit.com

The Koran says Israel is for the jews.
I don't care which fancy book says what, I don't care who has the historical right to the region, I don't whose great great great great great grandfather took the first shit in the Holy Land. It's completely irrelevant. The fact is neither Israel nor Palestine will be leaving, no matter who has the right to be there. They will be neighbours for life. Until the day WW3 bathes the region in nuclear hellfire, Israel and Palestine will be sitting right next to each other. Are the words of a book going to chase the other guy out? Is "historical right" going to make the other guy magically disappear? No? Then suck it up, and learn to get along. More on reddit.com

a jewish analysis of the Quran
The reason Islam gave for these changes - the Torah was corrupted by the Jews. I understand why Islam theologically needs to do this but what I find immensely frustrating is that it claims this but then also includes stories from the allegedly 'corrupt' part of Judaism. A good example of this is surah 52:70 21:58 which retells the Jewish story of Abraham smashing his father's idols. This story does not come from Torah but from the Talmud (Bereshit Rabbah 38.) How has this happened? Likely because the Prophet Muhammed heard these stories orally and didn't quite understand the distinction between Torah and Talmud. The issue for Jews here (and we get this interacting with Christians also) is that it's very difficult for us to teach about judaism within a Jewish framework. Almost always, you run up against presumptions about judaism because you are dealing with people who have been taught about judaism from a perspective that requires it to be disparaged. This leads to a lot of revisionism and rewritten Jewish history, which takes a lot of time to overcome. Then people get upset because they think we are attacking their faith, which we have no interest in doing. We would just appreciate it if people didn't have to (sometimes incorrectly) invoke our history and religion to justify their own beliefs. I remember once, early in my teaching career, teaching a lesson on judaism to a primary age, predominantly Muslim class. On the subject of Abraham, the first kid confidently assured me that he was the first Muslim, which I understand is how Islam sees it. But this means that in simply explaining the origin of Judaism I could be framed as diminishing Islamic beliefs. This is a major block in getting communities to understand where each other are coming from. Edit: corrected the cited verse reference More on reddit.com

September 16, 2009 - The first author, Robert Spencer, argues that Islamic law has not recognized and will never recognize Jewish rights to this territory. In a second essay, Muhammad Al-Hussaini, a Muslim scholar, understands the text of the Qur’an to award the Holy Land to the Jews for all time, and he holds that Muslims can be convinced of this interpretation.

The Monthly Alkawsar - The Character of the Jewish Nation in the Holy Qur'an
Some aspects of the Jewish character have been highlighted in the light of the Holy Quran. Today's Jews are their descendants. Allah Ta'ala addressed the Jews of the prophet’s era in many places for the sins of Bani Israel. He has described their sins, just as He has described the sins of their predecessors.

They have their own take on many figures that also appear in Judaism but they generally don't have a high regard of Judaism. Below are some Koranic materials. However, it helps to treat each religion as a unique system of belief, in this case, it helps to throw out any narratives that they are similar below is an academic lecture critiquing the idea of Abrahamic religions. O Messenger! let not those grieve thee, who race each other into unbelief: (whether it be) among those who say "We believe" with their lips but whose hearts have no faith; or it be among the Jews,- men who will listen to any lie,- will listen even to others who have never so much as come to thee. They change the words from their (right) times and places: they say, "If ye are given this, take it, but if not, beware!" If any one's trial is intended by Allah, thou hast no authority in the least for him against Allah. For such - it is not Allah's will to purify their hearts. For them there is disgrace in this world, and in the Hereafter a heavy punishment. Quran 5:41 The Jews were stamped with humiliation and wretchedness. And when ye said: O Moses! We are weary of one kind of food; so call upon thy Lord for us that He bring forth for us of that which the earth groweth - of its herbs and its cucumbers and its corn and its lentils and its onions. He said: Would ye exchange that which is higher for that which is lower? Go down to settled country, thus ye shall get that which ye demand. And humiliation and wretchedness were stamped upon them and they were visited with wrath from Allah. That was because they disbelieved in Allah's revelations and slew the prophets wrongfully. That was for their disobedience and transgression. Quran 2:61 O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. Quran 5:51 Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant. Quran 5:82 Edit: I cleaned up some of the formatting.

What does the Quran say about the Jews? - Backpack Israel
February 17, 2025 - The Quran most often refers to the Jews as “Banu Isra’il,” which means “children of Israel.” It tells us that GOD chose the children of Israel, freed them from slavery in Egypt, and led them into the Promised Land. But it also tells us that the Jews broke their alliance with GOD because they built the golden calf and worshipped it, killed the prophets whom God sent them, like Zechariah the Prophet, and falsified the holy scripture.

And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building.”

    3. Surah Al-Isra (17:104): “And We said after Pharaoh to the Children of Israel, ‘Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering.’”

Thus, the Qur'an is not referring to scripture that Jews and Christians use to possess in the past, but now are lost. Rather, the Torah given to Moses, and the Gospel given to Jesus, is the scripture that is with them (the Christians and Jews) and in their possession at the time of Muhammad.
