Been a member of perfect-privacy for just a few days now, but so far so good. Using openvpn on linux, setup was very simple, download the config files and import them, speeds are good, all online tools show I have no leaks. The account options on their website allows to use your pgp key so that all automatic emails are encrypted with your key which is a nice touch. Read lots of good things about them, they are more expensive than other options but they've had their no log policy confirmed, offer to encrypt all emails with them, good speeds and good server locations, hard to want much more from a vpn. I'd too like to hear others thoughts on them though since I am only a new customer. More on reddit.com

I'm looking for a domain name for an indie games studio I'm opening soon. I've settle on a name that I really like, but I cant get in contact with the domain name owner (listed under PERFECT PRIVACY, LLC). The webpage is completely blank and registration expires in 3 years. Should I give up on trying to get this domain?

Hi all, I’m certainly not a web developer, I only know enough to be dangerous, lol. But I’m coming to you pros because I have inherited a bit of a predicament. I’ve joined the board of a local non-profit organization who unfortunately was incredibly disorganized. We have a website that exists, but no one knows where it’s thru (the previous ED apparently hired someone to make it and forgot who it was). The website has attached emails associated with it that we also have no idea how to access. I’ve looked it up on who.is and unfortunately it just says register.com with no other details.
The new ED has set up a new website but the old one is still out there, which I believe is confusing to our community. It’s also creating other issues in getting us verified as a non-profit account in places and who knows what else.
I’m wondering what I can do to get access to the old one (other than just waiting for the domain to expire in Feb and then buying it). Does anyone have any advice that could help us with this current situation?
It’s truly a nightmare situation and I’m working to do what I can to help. Above all I know I will take very good notes of what we do and where access is, and hand it all over when I leave, so that no one is in this situation in the future!!!

Whois will tell you where they registered the domain and who's hosting it.

Do a whois lookup and check who the registrar is, the DNS servers, and the Contact Information. Also try using the whois lookup tool provided by domain registrar directly, sometimes that gives more results even though it should not make a difference. The DNS servers will give a hint as to where it is hosted or at least who hosts DNS. Do a DNS lookup to see where it points. You can query the MX records to see where email is setup. https://builtwith.com/ https://www.wappalyzer.com/ https://www.whatruns.com/ these sites are useful for scanning what tech stack the site uses and may identify the hosting platform & email provider as well. If you find domain registrar and/or hosting platform you can contact them and explain the situation and that you need access to the account. You will likely need to provide documentation proving your organization owns that domain.
