Thank you Eden Botanicals for providing this rare material. I ordered White Lotus and Pink Lotus together to compare them. I've been curious about them for a long time due to their symbolic meaning. I have only witnessed pink lotus in teas; yellow lotus growing in ponds here in the southwest U.S; and experimenting with dried white lotus petals. I diluted mine down to 10% in alcohol. As far as I can tell, the absolutes don't quite capture the scent of the lotus fully (which is normal) but it can be a great starting point to add more oils and create a rounder, more balanced, blend.

October 23, 2018 - Both White Lotus and Eden Botanicals are not carrying it presently. Does anyone have a supplier they can point me to? I may just have to buy a kg from Albert Vielle, if I can't find anybody selling it in a bit smaller qty,.. ???

January 20, 2024 - You are correct, they were purchased sometime during 22 or even 2023 (it has been kept pretty quiet) Biolandes also bought Golgemma last year.

Absolutes are concentrated aromatic oils extracted from plants. Typically, absolutes are used in perfumery rather than for aromatherapy, because they are extracted using chemical solvents. This process results in a wonderfully aromatic liquid or semi-solid.

March 20, 2025 - 'Lotus' sounds somewhat more imposing and luxurious than 'Lily' and that is tha base for the marketing, whether we want it or not: Every aromatic essence of 'Blue Lotus' is of Nymphea Lily (which is only marginally blue, really rather light violet - unless you enhance the image with the Photoshop) - as well as of all the real essences of 'White Lotus' - not a Lotus as well but of a white Nymphea Lily. As to the scent - Blue Water Lily absolute is somewhat more intense and arbitrarily 'interesting' than that of the proper Sacred ('Pink') Lotus, and a bit more available than the latter.

April 9, 2017 - I agree with all the above comments on the general quality, which is quite nice although I would put Liberty Natural and White Lotus Aromatics at a higher level. They, however, have minimum order quantities and it costs more to get sample sizes. I want to add a recent observation which is that for commercial use, which Eden Botanicals isn't usually thought of a source for anyway, there's a potential huge issue that their products can vary greatly over time.
