How easy it is to get an abortion in Israel?
Israel's abortion law now among world's most liberal
They also have universal health care so the government pays for abortions. The US gives over $3 billion in aid to Israel each year. I always hear calls to defund planned parenthood but never hear calls to stop giving aid to Israel. Why not?

You have to understand that pretty much every country has tighter restrictions on abortion than the US.
Most of the world would be appalled at the idea of aborting a child 27 weeks into the pregnancy, for instance, which is the law in the US.

This illustrates something that a lot of Americans don't realize about abortion, which is that the US has some of the most lenient abortion limits in the developed world.
More on reddit.comMy gf is an Israeli citizen but she resides in the US most of the year and she has never actually lived in Israel. She’s currently in Israel for a few weeks to get her US visa done and two days ago we had a really bad pregnancy scare. Fortunately, that was a false alarm this time (she read her pregnancy test wrong as all instructions were in Hebrew) but we realized that neither me nor her know anything about how the abortion process works in Israel and and the fact that neither of us speaks Hebrew makes everything even more complicated (both of us are Jewish though if it is of any relevance).
How easy is it to get an abortion in Israel? How long does it take to get one? Are there any abortion clinics in Israel (something like Planned Parenthood in the US)? Would appreciate any input - thanks!
