Is this synthesis correct? (Benzene to thymol)

A couple of issues here, but the main issue is that SN2 reactions do not occur at sp2-hybridized carbonatoms, in other words your second step would not work

Would anybody like to see the aftermath of a Thymol treatment on an Varroa infested hive's bottom board? It's horrific.

Its not how many mites end up on the board during treatment, its how many you pull out on sampling once its done, hopefully its 0 but you need to check.

Experiences with API LIFE VAR Thymol varroa treatment?

Right now, our plan is to stick a little piece of a wafer on top of the inner cover tonight, to give the bees some time to get used to the smell as suggested by this article on Scientific Beekeeping. Tomorrow we'll apply the first treatment and see how it goes. It looks as though, since this is a fumigation, the bottom board will need to be in; that should give us a good idea of how many mites fall off the adults (although I know the real problem is in the brood: is it too late in the summer to put in one of those green drone frames, to sequester the mites and then destroy them?) vs. how many bees are killed.

Herbs don't work, except when they do. Antidepressants work, except when they don't.

Nice work! I completely agree, medical industry has been corrupted to the core. They especially profit by keeping you sick.

Thymol - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
Thymol is the major component of thyme oil which is structurally similar to carvacrol having hydroxyl group at a distinct position on the phenolic ring. It is evident that the interaction of thymol affects membrane permeability which in turn causes loss of membrane potential, leakage of K+ ions, and ATP and carboxy fluorescein (Xu et al., 2008).
