June 9, 2024 - The only metric I use for American cities when comparing crime is the murder rate. That's because so many other crimes can go unreported, but murder usually can't. To see DC have a lower violent crime rate than Boston, when their murder rate is so much higher, is a perfect example of why we should do this. ... I was shocked NOLA wasn't on the list. But I see it is the 53rd largest city, so it wasn't considered. Pretty sure it would be top 3 for violent crimes.
