Blood sugar or blood glucose
I'll usually say, "My blood sugar is low" in spoken conversation. When I'm on here or online in general, I try to write the most correct terms that I can, so I'll type blood glucose or just BG. There's so many people that just wanna tear down whatever you're writing because of grammar or a misused word or phrase. You won't see me calling anyone out for saying blood sugar. More on reddit.com

April 30, 2024 - Excess glucose is stored in the body as glycogen, a glucose polymer, utilized during fasting. In addition, glucose can be produced through gluconeogenesis, a process involving the breakdown of fats and proteins.[2] Given the paramount importance of carbohydrates in maintaining homeostasis, numerous sources contribute to glucose production. The sugar molecule travels through the blood to energy-requiring tissues when glucose is in the body.[3] Glucose undergoes a series of biochemical reactions, releasing energy as adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
