Diagnosed with high testosterone, has anyone else gone through this?
I'm not sure what medication you will be given, but I'm taking spironolactone that suppresses testosterone production and everything is fine. Side effects I have noticed are less body hair, slower growing hair, clear skin and I am often thirsty and pee more often. I am taking it for my skin and it's great, no more acne. Just have a bottle of water with you during the day. More on reddit.com

A new study found higher testosterone was linked to a sense of entitlement and a willingness to exploit others. The study of 206 men and women found that those with higher testosterone levels for their gender tended to become more narcissistic and corrupt when put in a position of power.
From the article: “The good news is that people with low testosterone and even average testosterone did not become narcissistic when they gained social power, which was about 85% of our sample. So social power has the worst effects when it gets into the hands of those who want it the most and are the most likely to get it,” Mead explained. Interesting that this seems to back up that old adage about the people wanting power being the least suited for it. thank you for sharing, OP. More on reddit.com

Furthermore, despite no effect on SBP or DBP, our analyses suggest 0.1 mol/L higher free testosterone is associated with increased risk of hypertension (OR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.08 to 1.27; p=1.05×10−4). Given the multifactorial nature of this disease, the apparent discrepancy between blood pressure and hypertension may be explained by an effect on other risk factors that develop into hypertension. Moreover, both human and animal studies suggest a role of testosterone on hypertension.

December 26, 2024 - Your brain senses that there are high levels of testosterone in your body. The brain then assumes that the testicles are overproducing testosterone. The brain then alters the messages it sends for the producing of testosterone, by either lowering the creation levels or increasing them. This then results in a change of shape and size in the testicles. Excess testosterone in your blood can also shut down the activity, almost completely, in the testes if your body is ‘confused’ enough.
