[Science] Why isn't erythritol more popular?
I think because it doesn't taste as good as well. Malitol tastes just like sugar to me, I can't taste the difference--but erythritol has a slight cooling aftertastes. So not only are Malitol and co cheaper, they also taste more like the real thing, which matters when people are trying to sell to the masses. edit: ppl can stop replying saying how bad maltitol is, I am FULLY aware. OP asked why X isn't more popular, and I explained because it doesn't taste as good. And things tasting good is why a lot of people, myself included, got fat. A lot of people using sugar substitutes don't realize what GI is, nor fully grasp how similar to sugar maltitol is. More on reddit.com
