Behold, I stand at the door, and knock.
This text isn't talking about opening your heart to Jesus. In fact, the door being on one's "heart" is not mentioned, but is imposed into the text. This text is actually speaking to a church that has not been in right fellowship with the Lord, and He has returned home, the master of the church, knocking upon the door, expecting them to open up to him so that he can renew rightful relationship with them. It has nothing to do with people deciding to let Jesus into their hearts to save them. More on reddit.com

Do You Know How The Lord Jesus Comes and Knocks At Our Door?
Be careful with this verse. In context, He is writing to an apostate Church, He is not in the church, but outside, trying to reach anyone in there that will receive Him. More on reddit.com

Revelation 3:20

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8. Thank you for sharing this reminder with us 🙂 God bless you!

Three Doors, Three Promises—Part 3. Jesus Knocks at the Door. If I Open It He will Come In and Eat With Me and I With Him! — Jesus Restores: Our God is a Consuming Fire
February 25, 2020 - Part 2 looked at the invitations to ask, seek, and knock and the door will be opened to us (Matthew 6, 7). This post, part 3, examines the promise Jesus makes in Revelation (Revelation 3: 14 – 21) to the church in Laodicea and to every believer since then. Here is the relevant passage: “Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.

I Stand at the Door and Knock | Wild At Heart
It might be a surprise that Christ asks our permission to come in and heal, but you may remember that famous passage from Revelation, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock” (Rev. 3:20 NKJV). He doesn’t force his way in, and the principle remains true after we have given Christ the initial access to our hearts that we call salvation.
