Nomadic Tribes From Around the World That Still Exist
July 10, 2019 - There still exist nomadic communities in the world today, including the Sámi people of Scandinavia and Russia, The Kochi people of Afghanistan, and the Massai of Kenya.
Nomadic Life in the 21st Century.
Nomadic lifestyles require a lot more resources than people tend to imagine. Look at all nomadic cultures, and you'll realize they were essentially herders (or hunters that followed herd animals). Consider the Mongols, horses were more than just transportation for them, they were food and supplies. Native Americans followed the bison, different nomadic cultures herded things like goats, sheep, llamas, etc. You pretty much won't find any nomadic culture that doesn't coexist with some herd animal that vastly outnumbers them (even today the horse population is 3x higher than the human population in Mongolia). Without that, it's not really plausible for a nomadic culture to exist at all. Nomadic lifestyles are harsh, and you burn a lot of energy constantly being on the move. They're a lot more costly than a sedentary lifestyle. As for automobiles, there's pretty much no way for them to keep them running without advanced infrastructure. Most modern weapons require more support than people tend to realize as well (parts do break, the tiny springs especially). More on reddit.com
Nomads - What they are and who they are
Nomads Nomad; To be a traveler who keeps moving around. They are removed from a stable everyday and permanent residence. They’ll seek the unknown in forms of learning and with that get the experiences, when they as strangers walk into other people’s stable lives and permanent residence. A knowledge found one place will travel along on forward with the nomad. The traveling lexicon. Nomads is a word used to describe the round-eared humans of my world and the word gets used because these people are more prone to be traveling around. They live as traveling merchants, bards, bounty-hunters and so on. Whatever job they can take which they move along with. Each and every nomad has their own specific field of knowledge which they take along on their journeys as they travel around the world. A nomad though can find a stable everyday and permanent residence but will still be known to be one of the nomads as long as they have done a Life journey. A life journey is done from the age of 15 till 20 where the nomad has to branch out and try many different forms of nomad lifestyles. When they are 20 shall they settle on their specific area of expertise. Nomads can be born in any country to any set of parents since there is a 1% chance of them being born to two human parents. They will not be born to hybrid parents. The first 12 years of a nomad’s life can be extremely hard if not taken in the hands of already grown up nomads. Over 50% is killed before they reach the age of 1 as nomads and round-eared children are seen as bad luck. From there another 50% of the remaining children die before they are 8 because society will do everything to make the cursed family suffer in hope to kill the child. If a nomad child survives till they are 8 do their success of survival begin to turn, as it’s around this age that children’s magic go haywire. Many nomads is magicless (Though not manaless – since that’s lifeforce which keeps them alive) so a lot of stories of a magicless child will spread fast till a grown up nomad will come as fast as possible, offering to take care of the child and teach the child how to survive in a world where everyone but them has magic. Though some stories don’t reach far if they are from very small and closed communities or have been living off the grid (Away from society) with their parents. At the age of 12 is every child forced to go to the Wise-Man’s-Clock which will tell them their magical natures. Children getting neutral-neutral will be checked upon and Nomads will come as quickly as possible to get the child or at least check if the child has round ears. In case the child doesn’t have round ears will they still be able to survive as they aren’t seen as bad luck and therefor treated like a normal person. While most nomads are magicless – does this not mean everyone. Some are lucky to have passive magic while others have a full magical palette, but this is extremely rare between nomads and as such their Society is built around surviving as a magicless person in a world where everyone has magic (Or are pointy eared). Nomads while deviating in ears from other humans will still have the trait of sharp teeth like any other human and traits of the ancient ancestors (Like night vision) might still occur. Nomads are more likely though to have other deviating traits or illnesses which makes their lives as outcasts harder. More on reddit.com

April 26, 2021 - His crew traveled the country for twenty-five months, facing many of the same hardships you hear nomads discuss today: making money, finding repair shops, and worrying about places to stay. The group took jobs in factories and a landscape company while on the road, “basically making enough money for the bare essentials,” Headley recalls.

As I continue to flesh out the finer details of my American Empire timeline, it's the 2030s right after, the collapse of 2030, that led to the rise of American Empire, in the 2030s there are around 8 Million nomads wondering the Plains waste, to the North of Oklahoma (Imperial Territory) so how would nomads wondering the Plains work in the 2030s, and another's thing, should they be on Motorcycles, Bikes, and RVs, or on Food, and is it realistic, for Clans, to carry out Raids, against large cities like Minneapolis, or Kansas City, large cities, and for the Emperor of the American Empire, to tribe Clan Members to join his Armies, and what would the structure of the Plain Warrior Clans be, give me suggestions

You might take an inspiration from modern-day Mongolia. While most modern Mongolians are settled urbanites like anywhere else, a significant part of their agricultural sector is old-fashioned nomadic pastoralism, just with the benefit of motor vehicles and GPS instead of having to rely on horses alone. (Imagine if the empire of Genghis Khan had access to pickup trucks.) Cross that with elements of modern American ranching and Plains First Nations, and see what comes out. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agriculture_in_Mongolia

April 25, 2018 - But most modern nomads live indirectly off the web, using technology only to shorten distances. Life coaches take meetings through Skype, consultants set up rotating global routes to visit clients, and writers only need to press send via email. The work of a digital nomad is a lot simpler than it sounds. Tech provides more options to reinvent work flow, and new work schemes are invented every day...
