Curious. I work in DCM at a top BB and get 400-500 emails a day. Internal stuff, client requests, investor questions, etc.
I was catching up with a buddy to works in LevFin at another bank and he said he only gets ~50.
What do you do / how many emails do you get?
Most founders I talk to send 50+ investor emails and get maybe 2-3 responses. Some send over 100.
Is this normal? What's your experience?
I'm trying to figure out if the problem is:
-
Finding the right investors to email
-
Writing emails that don't suck
-
Following up without being annoying
-
Something else entirely
If you've raised money (or tried to), what was your hit rate? And what actually worked to get investors to reply?
Not selling anything here - just genuinely curious about how broken this process is.
I’m just curious how many emails you get each day. I’m not talking about the random/garbage emails that you can just ignore/file away. I’m talking about emails that you actually need to respond to or take action on?
At my current company (I’ve only been here a few months), I get at least 70 emails a day that I have to respond to. Some days, it’s over 100! I’m so sick of it. At my last job, I responded to maybe 25-30 emails on a busy day. But nowhere near the amount I get here 🙄
