The AI Paradox - In a world where the cost of answers is dropping to zero, the value of the question becomes everything... - Aussie Zone
People now know little about the value of democracy because they didn’t need to fight for it. So for all they care we might as well appoint fascists to lead us. I think on a more abstract level, it’s all one and the same form of atrophy. Also fits the question/answer theme of this video. Because fascists for sure have simple and easy to understand answers ready to our questions.) ... Traditional AI systems used a Knowledge Base to generate knowledge structures, and a Generator to make that structure human-intelligible.

If AI costs so much every time it answers a question, why have they programmed it to keep asking questions?

The economy has spoken. Stuff that’s AI-generated has almost zero value — “Buyers are voting with their wallets, and AI-generated content is struggling to compete.”
When the cost of generating content drops to literal zero, the market value drops right along with it. Nobody wants to pay for something anyone can prompt in five seconds. More on reddit.com

When Answers Become Abundant, Questions Become the New Currency · Vonng
December 2, 2025 - But today, a fresh graduate intern, armed with a well-crafted prompt, can produce an industry report rivaling that of a senior consultant. AI has pushed the marginal cost of “obtaining answers” to zero.

When Answers Get Cheaper, Questions Are Gold
May 25, 2026 - AI has shifted our focus from trying to find answers to thinking about what and how to formulate the right questions. I’d argue that as the value of getting answers goes down, the value of formulating new original questions that drive actual action should go up.

When answers get cheap, good questions are the new scarcity

Now? That pure knowledge - the kind you can simply look up or ask AI to provide - is essentially worth zero. When information becomes infinite and accessible, its economic value plummets to zero.

The Hidden Cost of AI Search: Why Every Question You Ask Isn’t Free | by Sudheer Kumar Komuravelly | Medium
September 13, 2025 - AI search isn’t “free.” It feels smooth and futuristic, but behind every neatly summarized answer is a hidden trail of electricity, water, and natural resource use. At small scale, that’s not a big deal.

How AI Search Handles Pricing Queries (5 Fixes) - Instant Press
July 16, 2026 - I call the core problem the price-answer gap. It is the distance between the price a buyer wants confirmed and the price your public content actually states. When that gap is zero, the model quotes you.

4 weeks ago - If I ask a supplier some questions about their product, and they send me back an AI summary of answers? That just tells me the supplier doesn't give a shit about ongoing support once you've bought their product, and in the future I'm more likely to go with an alternative provider. By the same token, if someone is writing something to me or applying for a position and it's clearly AI? That tells me you don't value me or my time. ... Of course it has zero value.

The true cost of AI: why it keeps rising
June 1, 2026 - Indeed, the initial image we had of generative AI was simple: a user asks a question, a model responds, and the cost depends on what was consumed in between. While this representation helps explain the principle, it increasingly fails to capture reality. As soon as we want to have a task executed rather than simply obtain an answer, the model must sometimes search for information, verify what it has found, call upon a tool, interpret the result, correct its reasoning, and redo part of the work if necessary.

September 13, 2025 - AI makes it easier to work with video content by turning transcripts into something you can search, question, and learn from. Instead of watching an entire video, simply ask a question and get a direct answer, summary, or key takeaway.

AI is making answers cheap. Curiosity is priceless - Fast Company
June 16, 2026 - But we had the answer we expected before we’d finished asking the question. That experience clarified something for me about the moment we’re in. Artificial intelligence makes this pattern worse, but it didn’t create it. The pressure to move fast before fully understanding a problem has always existed inside organizations. AI is amplifying a tendency that was already there.

Stop Asking AI for Answers (Ask for Questions Instead)
March 10, 2026 - Yet, every answer just made the decision harder. I thought the problem was me. Maybe that I wasn’t disciplined enough to just pick one and execute. Turns out the problem was that I was asking for solutions when I didn’t know what problem I was solving. So, I tried asking a different question. Instead of “How do I convert more free subscribers to paid?” ... Are people not converting because they don’t see the value, or because they see it but don’t need it yet?
