Is that a one day tour? You'll spend more time on a bus than you will at those destinations. Rosslyn Chapel is a beautiful building, but it's tiny. You're looking at about an hour to see everything in detail. If you're staying nearby, absolutely visit the chapel and Roslin Village and Glen, but I really wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit. Stirling castle is big enough to spend a lot more than 2 hours wandering around. Your original plan of spending a whole day there is probably more sensible. More on reddit.com

This is my go to place when we get visitors. They tell me they want to go to Edinburgh castle, I just say "Naw! Edinburgh Castle is baws! Stirling castle is the mutts nuts!" Wallace monument also has some nice views. More on reddit.com

December 16, 2015Day trip from Edinburgh: Stirling or Highlands?
Stirling. It's under an hour on the train and you can see the castle and the Wallace monument in one day. Unless you really like sitting on a bus of course. EDIT: Also consider the middle ground which would be a tour of the Trossachs. It's near Stirling and has loads of mountains and lochs. More on reddit.com

Stirling castle is great and the surrounding area and historic centre is really great to see. I've never walked between them but both lovely locations to visit what I'm more intrigued in as why you are staying in Inverkeithing. Are you visiting someone there? I don't have a ton of reccomendations as I don't often spend the time, it's more passing through to the other locations nearby. More on reddit.com

There is also the Grey Lady, who is said to be the ghost of Lady Catherine, who was the mistress of one of the Ramsay lairds. Once his wife found out about the affair, she locked the girl in one of the turrets and left her to starve.
