It might be past peak. It might be peak. It’s hard saying. Some years I’ve seen all the leaves come down in a freak early season nor’easter in the last week of September. I’ve seen them stay up to the end of October. Add to that that we’ve had a freakish summer—unprecedented floods, a cold August—that there’s no way to say. I personally think the post-foliage season (known as stick season) is just as nice if not better than foliage season, so there is that. More on reddit.com

Where in Vermont? There’s quite a bit of difference if you’re going up in the hills of the NE Kingdom vs southern VT or the Champlain Valley. That said, you’re probably at the tail end of most of VT.

Sorry you missed peak. Five seconds after peak, all of the leaves fell off the trees and that was the end of it. Best to just cancel the trip and try again next year. More on reddit.com

Places closer to Lake Champlain and lower elevations may be peak those days. Stowe and higher elevations will likely be past peak.
