I was really hesitant to do it, go back to school for tech. I looked it to it, and while there was some noise about the difficultly. I told my family I was worried about getting a job when I was done with a program, but they all encouraged me to do it. With that reinforcement, I convinced my gut that it would not be me. I convinced myself that I'm a hard worker with drive, and surely that wouldn't be me not being able to get employment. Well here I am, still unemployed. Always listen to you gut. It’s really bad, but far from impossible. A good portion of the doom and gloom you see here are individuals that were promised a golden escalator and a cushy remote job and are receiving neither. I’m currently working in a helpdesk position @ $25/hr. I have an unrelated degree, had no certs when I applied, and just a year of work-study student helpdesk experience from my college. If you have good people skills and a rock-solid work ethic I think you should still go for it, especially if IT is something you’re passionate about. More on reddit.com
