Military Incremental Complex - Space Kraken Studios - arms-dealer themed incremental game, just released!!
Any heavy industrial games (preferably military industrial complex)
Is this game about the industrial military complex?
Military Industrial Complex - The Game
I had a similar idea some time ago but more oriented to weapon trafficking. Maybe you could add that to your idea: take contracts from shady foreign actors (warlords, armed groups, etc) for good profit but risk of getting Interpol involved or losing face with the government.
More on reddit.comAfter 1.5 years of work, our military-industrial-complex themed incremental game just released on Friday!! It's had an incredible launch so far, and it's crazy that it's finally out!
The goal is to make as much money as possible, by making as many weapons as possible. You start by making ammo by hand, but later can get guns, tanks, jets, and more! You can automate your production, mine materials, buy stocks, bribe politicians, and there's even a whole prestige system!

I want to play a tycoon game as a weapons manufacturer and make deals with the government, discover new tech etc like OpenTTD but more focused on secondary industries. Are there games like this?
I finished it a week or two ago and I literally haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I've gone through a million interpretations in my head but the one that keeps sticking for me is that it's about forever wars.
So the setting is very clearly inspired by the cold war era and the technology from that time. We have the Nation with its theming around communist propaganda posters fighting against an unnamed Empire. These two are fighting over a planet named Vineta, one fighting under the guise of "freeing the planet from the empire's influence" with the other not giving explicite reasons. So this is very obviously the Vietnam War with some variables switched around, ie what if America and the Soviet Union switched their reasons for being involved in Vietnam.
There are two Vinetan soldiers, Lilith and Alina, one paralleling Elster and the other Ariane. Given that Alina is mentioned in medical records and in some other places, and some of the flashbacks in the fake ending, she most likely survived the war while Lilith didn't. Also important to note that at some point Lilith lost her right eye, and Alina is depicted as covered in bandages.
So this is where my interpretation comes in. All of these characters have in some way been victims to military expansion, Elster was implanted with the memories of a traumatized veteran, Lilith and Alina are self explanatory, Ariane was persecuted her whole life because of the military utilitarian society and served in the navy before joining a horrible expansionist project, Adler was made to be subservient and reliant on Falke who herself was made to be a piece of propaganda and control modeled after a military leader. Now here's where the parallels come in. Lilith, Elster, and Adler all tirelessly fight to protect a loved one from the injustices they have faced from this military society, in the process being given severe and irrepearable physical injuries by losing a right eye. There's also mental injuries being passed along as Lilith's memories and war trauma was directly passed into Elster and eventually Falke.
So what we have is an endless cycle of people fighting and dying to try to hold on to people they care about suffering mentally and physically for the whims of a militant state. The trauma from this is passed on through the generations as more people get drawn in and suffer state injustice for an expansionist military campaign, all of which started because of a communist themed country and an unamed empire fighting over a planet that sounds very very similar to vietnam for their own goals of expansion, with the cycle continuing through generations.
Imagine Kerbal Space Program, but the rockets carry nukes instead of astronauts
You can start out of a garage or a run down warehouse, building simple electronic components or the most basic radars
After you start getting some notoriety, you can start accepting government contracts for weapons, and so you get to design your own guns, according to the contract specifications. The better your gun is overall, the bigger the government order will be and that means even bigger profits. Just make sure you can keep up with the demand!
After you've made enough money, you can invest in building a massive R&D complex, where you can design planes, tanks, apc's, missiles, and everything in between. It is at this point that you can start lobbying for more foreign intervention and higher defense spending.
Randomly generated events can lead to the escalation or de-escalation of tensions and conflict, which obviously has an impact on your profits
At some point World War III will break out and your endgame objective is to supply the government with superior equipment and in high enough quantity that you can win the war, and make a hefty profit in the process

Having a military version of the Kerbal Space Program sounds a lot of fun, but including the world war three and real countries, that's a very, very, VERY bad idea. Even if you would let player choose their side... I mean, you would literally be supplying material for an actual war. Plus, your game would never get published in Japan due to their unfortunate and terrible experience of atomic bombs.
If you can use a fictional world, with fictional countries, and perhaps fictional creatures too (instead of humans, similar to kerbal stuff I guess), only then, I imagine your game might be a great success. You might even make a strategy map, like controlling different parts of the world map might provide you different resources, either metals, or fuel, or even engineers or connections to different guilds for either good or bad purposes.
