There is a ton of talk about showing your value. There is an even greater amount of agents talking about showing value and not ever once explaining what their value is, especially true of long time agents who think people should just know, which isn't how professional services work. If NAR wants to do something useful, I think they should publish some new marketing materials on why a buyer's agent is worth the money and break down how that value is achieved. More on reddit.com

The agent is correct in how they have interpreted the settlement. Shady? Maybe, the settlement was nothing more than a slap on the wrist (and a soft one at that) against NAR/realtors. The realtor is acting legally. Everyone is going to just move these commissions to somewhere besides the MLS. If you don't want to pay a buyer's agent, you don't have to. But if you are dealing with an agent who thinks it is a mistake not to pay a buyer's agent, I'd suggest not hiring this one and finding someone else. More on reddit.com
