what is ifuse? I have this on my laptop but I never owned an Apple device.
iPhone not showing up in the file system?
Linux Mint 21 (Base: Ubuntu 22.04) cant mount device
Why isn’t there any iFuse (or any other free alternative) for windows?

I'm wondering if somebody else might have been using my computer.
Does ifuse have any purpose other than interacting with Apple hardware? Does it come with Linux Mint preinstalled? Is it possible it was installed alongside some other package that depended on it? Is there any way to trace back how it got on my computer?
Hello, I’ve just recently come across this problem where I can’t see my iPhone show up in ‘Devices’ when it used to do so without no problem.
When I connect the iPhone into the Laptop it gives me the pop up that asks me if I can trust my computer and I put my passcode in to give it permission, but it still doesn’t show up.
What really confuses me is that when I type in “dmesg” into the terminal it shows that it CAN detect it, it’s just not showing up in the file system.
I’ve restarted both my laptop and my iPhone and I’m kinda stumped on what to do now tbh. I just wanna transfer music. If anyone knows what’s going on I’d really appreciate the help. :,)
(Also if anyone’s curious I use the XFCE version of Linux Mint.)
My parents are constantly talking about how hard it is to transfer files from IPhone to Windows. Back when my mom had a iPhone she had to pay like 20 euros to access some Chinese app that could transfer upp to 200GB of data. iTunes are like REALLY unintuitive and hard to use (especially for non computer geeks). But when I moved from Windows to Arch, I discovered how easy it is to transfer photos from IPhone to desktop. You just install one FOSS program (iFuse) and have unlimited access to your phone files. Why can’t anyone make something like this on Windows?
