I just got done figuring out this whole thing myself (took me days!) so you're in luck:

1 - Find which version of the OS you are running on your TI-92 (F5 + Diamond + right parenthesis)

2 - Download and install TiLP: https://sourceforge.net/projects/tilp/ on your computer

(The official TI link software doesn't support the backup files we need to send to your TI-92)

3 - If installing TiLP on Win 8 or later, you might have to force Windows to recognize the correct TI drivers using Zadig: https://zadig.akeo.ie/

4 - Download the TI 92 Pre-installed Fargo backup corresponding to your TI-92 OS version you determined in step (1): https://ticalc.org/pub/92/asm/shells/backups/

5 - Open TiLP. Go to File-->Change Device. Cable: [Choose the one you're using, most likely a SilverLink] Port: [Choose, might have to play around with different port numbers corresponding to the USB drive on your computer]. Calc: TI-92

6 - In TiLP, Restore the custom backup file you downloaded in (4) to your TI-92. Fargo should now be installed on your calculator. If you downloaded and sent the wrong backup by mistake, your OS will be corrupted and you'll have to clear the ram by taking out the batteries or by holding **2nd** and holding **LOCK** at the same time, then press **On**

7 - Now that Fargo is installed, download any games you like from: https://ticalc.org/pub/92/asm/

And send the unzipped files from your computer to the TI-92 via TiLP (you only need to send the .92P files)

Heed the ReadMe files because they tell which Ti-92 libraries you'll need to get the software to work. Send those required Libraries to the TI-92 before attempting to run the game. You can download the correct libraries from the ticalc.org link above.

8 - To run a game, access the Var-link menu on the TI-92, find the name of the game, hit enter, complete the parenthesis, and hit enter again. The game should hopefully run.

This goes without saying, but your TI-92 has to be connected to your computer via a link cable for any of this to work ;-)
