Looks at least "okay" at first glance. Comparable (it's tough, Griz doesn't appear to make a 15" open stand planer anymore) are over $1100. Comparable Jet's are over $1500.
Visit the planer. Take some stock that you usually work, I dunno, about 3 feet long, 8 inches wide, if you can. Have one side jointed. Just run it through a few times in multiple spots. If the machine sounds fine and the surface produced is good, buy it.

June 28, 2014 - There's a Grizzly G1021 planer available locally at a reasonable price. If I picked it up I'd put a Grizzly spiral head in it which would keep the total price in the 1100-1200 range. Those who have this model has it been a reliable performer? Would you buy it again?
