You just really never know what God is planning. Now, for you, of course, this sermon is superfluous. But anyway, Acts 2:14 to 42 is the sermon of Peter on the day of Pentecost.

The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.

So we have a choice, as Peter put it in his sermon. Will we choose to face God's wrath before the coming and great notable day of the Lord? Or will we call upon the name of the Lord and be God's firstfruits and be in that first resurrection? That is the choice of the Day of Pentecost.

June 24, 2024 - Tongues of fire appeared over them and the men began to speak in different languages, as the Holy Spirit directed them. Many people were in Jerusalem for the holy day, visitors and residents, and they heard what was happening. They were amazed because they heard the men praying in their native languages at the same time. Other people thought the men had just had too much to drink. To explain what was taking place, Peter stood up to speak to the crowd.

If so, may I like Peter plead with you: "Be saved from this perverse generation."

April 9, 2015 - The sermons found in Scripture are a great study. Peter's sermon on the Day of Pentecost deserves our special attention (Acts 2:14-41). As I have been preaching through this portion of the Bible, I have come to appreciate his message as an excellent prototype for all true biblical preaching.
