It'll depend on the ingredients. Plenty of lemon and cloves will help with congestion, and the honey (and the whiskey) will soothe your throat etc, but mostly for me it's an excuse... 🤭

Do you? I've got a moderately nasty cold at the moment and have had for a few days now. I find that a dram or two of whiskey really helps take the edge off all the symptoms for a couple hours. Of course I don't mix it with medications and I always make sure I stay well-hydrated. Since my nose is a bit plugged up (though not that bad), I don't drink any of the good stuff, but stick with the cheaper standard offerings.
Anyway, I'm just curious if you guys take a break completely while sick or what.

I make hot toddies. Some kind of tea plus honey, lemon, and cheap scotch or bourbon. I've been using J&B.

I know you said you don't drink while taking medications, but I gotta emphasize: Don't drink while taking Tylenol! That stuff is hard enough on your liver on its own, adding booze can really mess you up.
