July 12, 2022 - Green lived in the house until 1930 and when he retired and moved down South, he donated the house and his collections to The National Trust. But the donation was based on one condition – that the rooms remained exactly as he intended. He threatened that he would come back and haunt the building if his request was not met – so the Roman legionaries would not be the only ghostly presence at The Treasurers House!

This place wasn't even in our guide books but was a great place to visit. Said to be the most haunted house in England it really fit the bill. In addition to the English Ghosts upstairs there have been numerous sightings of Roman Ghosts in the ancient basement. They unearthed an ancient Roman Road 50 or so years ago and them the fun really began.
