That awkward moment when Girl Scouts approach and you can barely afford real groceries - *FUNNY RESPONSES ONLY*
As a former Girl Scout, the funniest answers I ever got were a lady yelling at me that were what’s wrong with America, everyone’s fat and it’s our fault! And then a lady who flatly, and perfectly, said “I don’t speak English” More on reddit.com

Thin Mints and Thick Lies: How Anti-Science Activists Are Targeting the Girl Scouts
I had someone approach me about this TWICE today during booth sales. I stepped away from the girls and laughed a bit. I told the person that if they are concerned about the levels in cookies, they should be REALLY concerned about their broccoli, carrots, and everything else that actually directly grows in the ground, because that's where it all comes from. I also told her that the levels that they allegedly found were way, way lower than you might find in the vast majority of our processed foods that we eat all the time, and that I'm just baffled as to why someone would target the Girl Scouts, of all groups. It's like they don't want us building girls of Courage, Confidence and Character who are driven to make the world a better place or something. She smiled and said she felt much better, and I invited her to help support the troop. She turned around and bought a box of cookies. It was great! More on reddit.com

How do parents look at Girl Scouts and don’t think it’s a scam?
I don't know about your council, but the one I was involved with as a leader, we got a portion back. A larger portion did go to council, but it was used for things like--uniforms for girls who could not afford them. Camp for girls who could not afford it... Membership fees... activities for the area like our big annual Christmas party. You should be able to talk to council and ask for a breakdown of where the money goes. More on reddit.com

r/GameTheorists on Reddit: The Girl Scout Cookie Lawsuit
March 14, 2025 -

There's been a class action lawsuit against Girl Scouts, claiming that the cookies have potentially harmful amounts of certain pesticides and metals. The thing is, the study they're citing only had a sample size of 25 cookies in only 3 states. The legitimacy of the study, and by extension the lawsuit, seema questionable and worth investigating. Definitely the kind of thing that Santi could talk about on Food Theory.
