IRS Admits It Encourages Illegals To Steal Social Security Numbers For Taxes
December 16, 2020 - In fact, he said that the IRS actually had an interest in helping the illegal immigrants to crook these rules. In fairness, perhaps it's just the 'that's not my department' response that abounds in big government. Perhaps this just isn't the IRS's problem, but it sure seems odd to have any agency chief encouraging illegal immigrant theft of SSNs.

My employer has my wrong SSN number by accident… How bad is it?
The company is not in trouble at all. This happens all the time. Are you suuuuuuure the SSN is wrong? Five years is a long time for the IRS to not catch this. More on reddit.com

taxes filed under wrong social security number, what do we do?
I don’t understand how this could happen because they reject returns with the wrong social. Look on your IRS online account and verify that a tax return was submitted. More on reddit.com

Tax Return Rejected Because SSN or Name Doesnt Match IRS Records
Did you pull tax transcripts from IRS to confirm there's no weirdness? If so I would chat with TT support first. Then call the IRS. More on reddit.com

Payroll and SSN
So basically they shouldn't get a specific notice, only you get a notice from the IRS. If they do get a notice they are not allowed to fire you once they employed you on suspicion that you are working illegally because of that notice. It says so on your notice the IRS will actually help you sue your employer for doing this if you can prove it. However if they approach you about needing to fix your onboarding because you didn't pass verify then a timer starts for them. You have 30 days to prove you can work and provide the correct information to them. After than if you can't you are pretty much fired but it's legal because you had plenty of time to fix this problem. So it's been months , you're in the clear for e verify. Just don't worry about it. When you get your W2 it will have that SSN, that's fine too just prepare your taxes with your ITIN. if you don't have an itin you have to make an appointment with the IRS and when you're there you tell them you need to pay your taxes so you need an ITIN and they will give you one. Just pay your taxes, that ssn is now tied to your itin because of your taxes you filled. So don't go around using another or somebody else's it not using your real name that's going to cause problems for you later Just pay your taxes and keep them for your record so later when You're trying to prove You've been here and being a functioning part of society you'll have all your tax returns to show them. Once you have a real ssn you can redo your taxes and get the rest of your money back. Also if you ever get promoted within this company make sure you aren't trained somewhere else at a different location. Some of them take advantage of that knowingly hiring people with invalid SSN and once they are promoted to a meaningful position they transfer them so a second location can e verify you and you will lose your job. So take as many promotions as you can but once they are trying to transfer you out for training that's a red flag do or say whatever you can to be trained in your own location Hope that helps, also I need a job so if you can DM me the job deets so I can send my resume I would love you very much and you're invited to the carne asada More on reddit.com
