Prudence Iticka is a Cameroonian-born Pan-African organizer based in Calgary, Canada, known for her activism in African studies expansion, mutual aid, and solidarity with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). She is a member of the United African Diaspora and the Coalition for the Elimination of Imperialism in Africa, and has been instrumental in advocating for the growth of the African Studies program at the University of Calgary, helping secure a $400,000 grant to expand course offerings and hire new faculty.
She co-founded Black People United Calgary, a grassroots mutual aid group focused on supporting Black communities, refugees, and newcomer families through culturally grounded, community-driven initiatives such as food hampers, community picnics, and advocacy. Her work emphasizes dignity, collective care, and the reclamation of African identity and history.
Iticka has also been a vocal advocate for Pan-African education, leading efforts to teach African history to youth through programs that counter mainstream narratives of victimization. She recently returned from a delegation to Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, nations that formed the AES, and has spoken widely on the anti-imperialist struggle in the Sahel region, highlighting the legacy of Thomas Sankara and the current leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
In addition to her activism, she is a top-performing luxury sales professional at Maison Birks, where she has generated over $1 million in annual sales and serves as a brand ambassador. She also has a background in sports, having played varsity basketball in high school.
