I just donwnloaded elden ring from https://fitgirl-repacks.site/elden-ring/, selected the drive option and the after unziping the files this windows alert appeared and it says "PUA:Win32/GameHack low" so i dont know if i should be worried or its a fake alarm
Was going to play the cracked version of Skullgirls Second Encore. It works fine last night, but when I turned on my pc again, the steam.dll file was deleted and was flagged and said it was a threat called: HackTool:Win32/Gamehack.E!MSR. Is this safe or should I delete it immediately?
First time downloaded on the official fitgirl site and having second thoughts if I should run it coz even tho I know it's one of the safest sites out there and most detected malware are false positives (based from what I've researched so far), but also because I had a dream where I downloaded something with malware and f'ed up my laptop (might be destiny or something lol).
I've been using steamrip for a while now, and recently, i downloaded malwarebytes to see if my pc has a virus or not because it felt slow, and it flagged and quarantined files saying its "Riskware.Gamehack". Is this a false positive? And also, the game i want to play was among us.
Another thing is that i wanted to play Human: Fall Flat with my cousins, but it didnt have multiplayer, so looking at the files. i noticed theres no "Online-fix,me" files steamrip games usually have, so i headed over to the website and downloaded the dll and ini and the other web thingy. and pasted it in the files of the game, and i scanned it in VT (only the dll) and it got a 31 positives and there were a good amount of known engines there... So I created this account just for help from you guys. PLEASE SAVE ME!!
It worked fine and suddenly this, and no i have no hacks installed.
update 05 jan 2026: official response from devs https://www.reddit.com/r/HellLetLoose/comments/1q4iybr/windows_defender_false_positive_issue/
update 14 jan 2026: Microsoft doesn't flag it as a PUA anymore https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/91a137ea67528bd50c627c348591e6c15952b1c73d2fad5fe8ae54dce0e7ddfc
PUA:Win32/GameHack is being identified by several different antivirus programs as a low level threat. It affects TurtleWoW\no1600x1200.dll
I've had to reinstall Turtle several times in the last week, but this is the first time it's come up. Is this supposed to be an anticheat?
HackTool:Win32/Gamehack.G!MSR was found in a cracked game i downlçoaded from igg saying a hacktool i think it ist dangerous but windows defender does say that the rik potential is high.
what do i doFgunz is a private server of a dead game I was intrested to play, supposed to be safe and it is the largest community on the game. When I dowloaded it, my windows security wanted me to authorize PUA:win32/gamehack. I asked on their discord and they told me its a false positive, and that it’s only because it is a cracked game. I did allow it and after I researched it, some sources say its a virus and some say its just a cracked game. I tried to delete it through the windows security but was unable to. Is it malicious, and if so how do I clean my pc or protect it from it?
Is this file safe to delete? Because right now i am downloading elden ring from fitgirl repack, and windows anti virus detected potential threat, so i deleted it, after a few moments the qbittorent app show me a notification that says error (i forgot the other) so the point is, will it effect the game? And is it safe to uninstall them?
Hello, I downloaded a game from steamrip, ran a full scan, got the image below, says it's a low threat and that it's currently running. Not sure if I should delete it, or quarantine it, or just leave it be. I'm getting mixed messages from every source, like the microsoft help site thingy said it is dangerous, then this subreddit said it was safe. What do I do?
i download schedule 1 from online fix , how is this safe ??
I randomly booted up my pc to the delightful notifications that something called win32/gamehack was running on my computer
I turned off my pc’s wifi and have been using my phone to do some research, some people are saying it’s from steam while others are saying it’s from cracked software.
The only thing I have been using my computer for recently is playing Lego Star Wars cs and YouTube so I genuinely have no idea how this got on my pc.
Do I need to reset my passwords? A pc reset? Is this even a threat at all?
So, long story short, I downloaded Far Cry 5 from FitGirl last year, worked fine back then.
Tried replaying now but it crashes after the cover screen.
Saw a YouTube “fix” with a replacement .exe in the comment section in FG, scanned it on VirusTotal and a bunch of engines flagged it as Trojan/HackTool.
Is this just false positives from a crack, or is it actually unsafe?
Anyone else run into this?
P.S.- I've tried downloading the whole game again as well, didn't work.
Downloaded AC odyssey from fitgirl packs , windows defender picked this up .
i don't usually download alot of cracked games and am not aware if this is something common or not.
Do tell me if this is okay to restore or if it actually could damage my pc
I've googled it but haven't found a result can anybody explain it to me
Was installing final fantasy 7 when my windows defender warned me of this threat. Should I remove it or allow it?
So, I have been playing a cracked version of RimWorld, and the game just started randomly crashing. (playing with mods.) I deleted mods that were causing issues, and there are none now. My game is still crashing, I looked it up and saw that it is probably because I need to verify the game files. I can't do that, because it is pirated. So I'm wondering if there is way to make the game *think* it is verified?
