The $60B Ukraine aid bill passed today, with bipartisan support - as it passed, hundreds of mainly Democrat representatives cheered and waved Ukrainian flags in the House of Representatives.
To me, this seemed a little strange. As an Indian, in our Lok Sabha (the equivalent to your House of Representatives), we have an unwritten rule that the only flag allowed in the sacred chamber is the flag of the Republic of India. The point is to show that the House is ultimately the repository of the hopes and dreams of the Indian people, and no others. And that only having the Indian flag there at all times indicates that the MPs only serve the Indian people, not a foreign power.
So, a question to you Americans - is there no similar symbolic rule for your House? And if not, how do you feel about Democrats waving Ukrainian flags (or any foreign flags, really) in the American House of Representatives? Supportive, indifferent, opposed?
EDIT: While I still hold my points below to be true, I think many good arguments against this have been made in the thread. I can certainly see how using the flag of another country could be an ineffective symbol.

It stands for who and what we used to be as a country and what we still want to become. Much or our wealth and security is the product of supporting fledgling democracies across the globe—sure we fucked up with this at times, but on the whole we did so much good in the world pursuing and protecting democracy globally with the help of other nations. There is no better symbol for this today than Ukraine's blue and yellow banner.

We can look to Ukraine as inspiration in our fight against Trump and fascism. They've held their ground, inflicted a great cost on Russia for it's murders, rapes and territorial incursion.

Trump will hate it.
-
Putin will hate it.
-
It will remind anyone with a conscience of Trump's betrayal
-
It will show Ukraine and it's neighbors that there is still a segment of Americans who want to support them.

It is a simple symbol to reproduce and recognize.
Seen as part of a very political “meme”, and had other flags I knew, so I cropped the meme to ensure there is no political discussion or hate
The last picture has famous heraldic problems, but it's just as an idea.
In a constitution Ukraine has a small and big coat of arms, but a bigger one is still not chosen.
Blue means dignity and justice.
White means a clear bright future, clear conscience and peace.
Yellow means wealth and prosperity.

Following the US Embassy in Kyiv on Facebook and I've noticed they consistently use a non 50 star US flag in digital formats. One looks to be 38 stars and another 51. Is someone working there just unaware of what the flag is supposed to look like? Or an I missing something?
