400 piece puzzle of Einstein tile pieces. Not sure if my solution is the unique solution because from my understanding, there are subtle rules to follow to create the tiling.
Having fun, albeit painful, solving this without looking at the solution!

They look really amazing, but unfortunately they also seem a bit more advanced to generate versus traditional methods.
Also doing English paper piecing for the first time! (Einstein tiles are a super cool math thing that can cover a surface w/o a repeating pattern.)

My boyfriend's 28th birthday is coming up and I want to make him a ceramic chess board, but also use a special shape called an Einstein tile (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einstein_problem) to tesselate the borders of the chess board. I bought largeish (15cm x 15cm, 4mm thickness) tile and thought I could use a handheld tile cutter to cut square pieces for the squares of the chess board and "kites" for the Einstein tile. I'm able to cut the tile but definitely not with the precision I would want to make the shapes I want.
Now I could easily abandon these large tiles and buy 1cm by 1cm square ceramic tiles for the square pieces, but then I'd run into the same problem of not being to make the special Einstein tiles.
Do any other diy-crafters know of a good and inexpensive way to cut ceramic tile with relative precision? Was thinking of buying a tile cutter like this (https://www.biltema.fi/en-fi/construction/tiling/tile-cutters/tile-cutter-pro-600-mm-2000042800) but not sure it'd help me produce the shape I want. I am not a crafty person at all but I really want to make this gift for him because I know he would appreciate it a lot. Any advice would be appreciated thanks <3
