Answer from theCodingWombat on reddit.com

Is it safe to use android emulators for banking - Windows 10 Help Forums
June 17, 2020 - Well I searched for ten minutes and couldn't find a single bank/ valid banking website that suggests using an android emulator to use their app. There's a lot of results on"how to" but not from a mainstream reputable site. All the reputable sites ( as far my judgement goes) I visited yesterday, waiting for some input from forum members like yourself, all clearly do not recommend do banking via emulators.

r/AskProgramming on Reddit: Can I install my banking apps in android emulator? I need to get notifications and send it to multiple devices.
September 6, 2024 -

Hi im a newbie. I have a fnb business currently receiving payments from customers using banking apps.

when customer send payment to me, Im the account owner will receive notification. But im not always at the cash register.

I want to be able to let my staff receive this notification too for payment verification.

so I was thinking to let my bank account run in emulator—>get notifications—> send to server—>send notifications to homemade apps.

is there any better way? or this is the only way?

April 19, 2021 -

Liebe Leute,

Vielen Dank!

There are a bunch of very essential apps that are unfortunately only available on mobile, most notoriously bank apps and bluetooth device apps. Some shopping apps only offer discounts and free shipping through the mobile app. I hate that so much. I hate having to rely on my phone for everything even though I use my PC most of the time. I tried bluestacks but it is a bit awful. I'm not looking to play games on it, I don't even have mobile games other than tetris and suika.

r/AndroidQuestions on Reddit: Safe to use Android emulator (Bluestacks) for banking applications?
December 30, 2015 -

I'm no security expert and so I'm wondering if there is any issue with me doing this. Being someone with no Android or Apple devices, I needed a way to deposit checks through my PC and decided to use one of these emulators so that I could run my mobile banking apps. I've already set them up and used them a few times and they seem to be working expected. However, I'm wondering if there are any security concerns to doing my banking with this application (Bluestacks)?

I know that there are other emulators that have better performance (AMIDuOS), but they have issues with using the camera in Win10, which is what I have on my work PC. Another option I haven't really looked into but assume is feasible is to set up an Android VM (Oracle VirtualBox of VMware)... like I said, I really haven't looked into this at all yet.

r/Magisk on Reddit: [Help] Banking app detects phone as an Android emulator
September 27, 2022 -

My banking app (BPI Mobile) detects my phone as an Android emulator. I've already tried the following, but they all didn't work:

  1. Install safetynetfix modulde (safetynet check passes; other apps that would normally detect root are working).

  2. Add banking app, play store, and play services to denylist.

  3. Hide magisk app.

  4. Flash shamiko module.

  5. Use Island app.

January 15, 2024 - In all fairness, emulators are not really good at emulating a mobile devices, CPU properties and this can come up as suspicious when checked on creepjs you might need to explore real mobile device solutions if your use case is not APP dependent because root detection is not 100% accurate as some APPS will still detect root status... ... Banking apps can check Play Integrity API(Former SafetyNet) and thus mark your acc if its not passed.

Best Android Emulators for PC and Mac - Marks Angry Review
August 15, 2025 - AndY is a bit of an underdog, but it’s worth considering if you need an emulator for both PC and Mac. It’s free and has a decent user interface, though it feels a bit dated compared to others. What I like about AndY is that it supports a wide range of Android apps, and you can even use your phone as a remote control.
