April 7, 2017 - Smack dab in the middle of Erie, Pennsylvania are 75 acres dedicated to its dead. The 167 year old cemetery is treasured by its community for its beautiful setting and historical markers while others whisper of its darker side.

Our Ghosts and Legends Tours at the Erie Cemetery took guests on a spine-chilling walk through the historic grounds, uncovering eerie tales of those long departed. Attendees explored the mysteries of unlawfully opened mausoleums, whispered legends of a lurking vampire, and other chilling stories from the vaults. A special highlight of this event was being lantern led and held at 6 p.m., where visitors experienced the cemetery’s haunting beauty by lantern light.​

October 9, 2024 - Perhaps the most frightening part of the trek was Erie Street Cemetery. The nine-acre cemetery that dates back to 1827 is full of trees that block and/or dapple both the moon and the city lights. A dark cemetery is enough to spark the heebie-jeebies.

December 16, 2021 - The mausoleum is dark and appears to have been on fire at some point. It is apparently very haunted and people have heard strange noises coming from inside the structure. There have also been reports of a black spectral dog wandering the cemetery ...

August 3, 2021 - The Old Covered Bridge towards the back of Waterford is supposedly Haunted. Lots of weird stuff has happened around there. There’s also the Vampire Tomb in the Erie Cemetery, Waterford Hotel, and I’m not sure how accessible it is, but the Erieebyss Factor of Terror haunted house is legit haunted, but to my knowledge that was shut down years ago.

September 7, 2025 - The Brewerie offers haunted tours throughout April and October. According to legend, there is a mysterious vampire crypt in Erie Cemetery, marked only with an engraved “V” above the doors.

September 24, 2018 - Castalia Cemetery – It is said that if you drive your vehicle through the cemetery at night, the vehicle will stall and you will hear yelling and screaming coming from the center of the cemetery.
