Fighting fluorescent light fatigue - The Spectrum
June 13, 2018 - Students in classrooms with flourescent lighting often experience distracting and painful headaches due to eye strain. In an email from sophomore Jonathan Bacdayan, he said, “I know people who get headaches from having [fluorescent lights] on too much, and for that reason I’d say that classrooms that are in the dark (or with less than full lighting) more often are better.”

r/Anxiety on Reddit: Anyone else feel horrible under fluorescent lighting??
May 6, 2022 -

So i recently started a new job at a retail store, i was on my second shift today but had to leave just due to how "out of it" and headachy i was starting to feel. It's defiantly the lighting causing the issue as i remember a similar thing when i shopped at this exact store, this place has no windows and has these massive BRIGHT white lighting shells hanging off the roof everywhere.I tried shrugging it off as maybe i was just nervous as it was a new job but i dont really think that was it. its kind of hard to explain but I get really dissociated and mentally foggy, its like i cant speak as well or think properly and like I'm on auto pilot. I mean i wouldn't be surprised if shops are designed this way to make people spend more money.

I thought i was crazy but i looked it up and its actually a thing some people are sensitive to certain spectrums of light, I'l have to leave the job as i cant deal with that 8 hours a day.
