Too much data (fun fact: they are banned at some sensitive areas in China, and definitely should in other countries as well), and there only one answer to the question "can Tesla be trusted?". And the answer is "absolutely fucking not". I'm actually surprised that modern cars packed with cameras and with internet access haven't raised more privacy and safety concerns yet. It shouldn't really surprise anyone that if something has a camera or a microphone the chances of it being used to capture and record data are high. What is aweful is that it's so blatent. We desperately need strong and robust privacy laws. Some manufacturers are good about this, but we would be morons to trust corporations to do the right thing when shareholders are at their doorsteps. Phones, cars, laptops and whatever the next big tech items are all embedded with the means to capture and sell customer data. This isn't going away and will continue to exist unless policy, regulations and laws are made and agencies are empowered to enforce them. More on reddit.com
