Yes. Rent a car, drive to Red Rocks, do Calico Tanks trail. At the top, you look out over the Vegas skyline with mountain backdrop. If you have time, there are a couple other short hikes on your drive out. But Calico Tanks has the gain and view you’re looking for. More on reddit.com

OK, so here's the thing. I'm assuming you have a car for this. If you get the car entry permit and drive the scenic loop to go to a hike, you have to take into account that you have to drive the entire loop, which takes almost half an hour if you're going the speed limit, and you'll want to because the views are really spectacular. So, doing any trail on the scenic drive is a 30 minute drive to the entry, 30 minute drive back, and almost 30 minutes driving around the loop. If you're cool with this, I'd say hike the Calico Tanks Trail which you access from the Sandstone Quarry parking lot: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/nevada/calico-tanks-trail BUT, if you want to maximize hiking time, park at Red Springs which avoids the scenic loop (and you don't have to get the entry permit so it's less fuss) and you can do a few slightly longer hikes. I hope you don't plan on doing it all in 1 day. How difficult you looking for? Turtle Head Peak at Red Rock has some great views at the top, but it's not an easy hike. As far as Valley of Fire, White Domes Trail is cool, it's got a slot canyon and an old movie set. There's also a few trails with petroglyphs at both locations.
