1 week ago - In one video shared by the White House, from Trump's greeting with the Secretary General of NATO, he said: I watched a couple of people critical of [...] TikTok. It's so bad, it's so dangerous, it's so horrible. They're spreading all these rumors. And then numbers came out yesterday, and you know who's number one on TikTok? I am. I'm number one on TikTok. And all I talk about is how bad communism is, right? They say, "Oh, it's terrible, they're spreading," but I'm number one. [...] But I'm number one on TikTok. I have like 4 billion views, or something like that. Fox News also published a shorter clip from that exchange titled "Trump claims he is number one on TikTok at NATO Summit." In another video published by the White House, from a July 8 press conference, Trump again said he was No. 1 on the platform: Even in TikTok, you know, I was watching somebody say, "Oh, the TikTok deal.

Trump Makes A Big Brag Out Of His ‘Influence’ On TikTok And... Oof
6 hours ago - The graphic — which, according to Trump, was sent by TikTok CEO Shou Chew — also references some 425 billion all-time views on TikToks tagged with “#Trump.” · The image also points to billions of views on TikToks related to his D.C. “beautification” projects, the Iran “peace deal,” as well as those linked to the UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House’s South Lawn. MeidasTouch’s J.D. Wolf noted that such figures include “supportive, neutral, and critical content alike,” meaning TikToks that knock the administration’s work on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, for instance, would be looped into the data. ... Trump, while holding a printout of the graphic in the Oval Office, nonetheless bragged that “billions and billions of people” are looking at him. “And I keep hearing about the influence other people have,” Trump continued in the clip.

Trump claims to be 'No. 1' on TikTok. What does that mean?
1 week ago - A Sunday Truth Social post adds some clarity to Trump's claims. Trump posted a message from TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew saying the president was the No. 1 most followed world leader on the app. When asked for a comment on the discrepancy, the White House referred to a second Truth Social post where Trump reposted the original one. Trump does have the most followers out of the world leaders on the app, a CNBC analysis found. After him are El Salvador's Nayib Bukele with 12.9 million followers, Mexico's Claudia Sheinbaum with 9.3 million followers and France's Emmanuel Macron with 7.3 million followers. Many world leaders do not have TikTok accounts, including China's Xi Jinping, Russia's Vladimir Putin and many heads of Middle Eastern countries. Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has amassed 1.5 million followers on the social media platform.

But when asked to elaborate on the financial backing behind Trump Accounts, the president suddenly trailed off into a lengthy rant about his popularity on TikTok. “On the Trump accounts—the SpaceX president has said that she is going to donate shares to the Trump accounts,” said Yahoo Finance’s Jennifer Schonberger, referring to Gwynne Shotwell. “Have you spoken at all with Elon Musk about further share donations as well as other corporate—about share donations?” · “I’m like a cheerleader for geniuses,” Trump started before almost immediately switching the topic. “Now there’s a thing called TikTok, have you heard of it?” · Trump recalled a segment he had seen recently on Fox Business’s Mornings With Maria.
