What do people here think of my religion? Theravada Buddhism
As far as belief systems go, it may be less bloodthirsty than some, but no less delusional. Can you demonstrate the reincarnation is real? Do you think that women are equal to men, including becoming leaders/monks? There are also many within your belief system who denigrate and discriminate against gay people. What's your stance? Do you feel that the rejection to Mahayana is in conflict with the Buddha's emphasis on non-sectarianism and inclusivity? More on reddit.com

What are the main differences between the Theravada and the Mahayana paths?
One of the most venerable and influential teachers in the Thervada Sangha of the west, Lung Phor Sumedho was once asked why he chose Theravada over Zen. He had been introduced to Buddhism through Zen, and some people where curious to know why he had ordained into the Theravada tradition. His reply was something like "I have been to Japan, it is very cold. I prefer the heat so I decided to ordain in Thailand" Obviously there was more to it. But at the same time perhaps the paths we take depend more on how, when and why we encounter a tradition and less about a thinking process. All this to say that if there are local groups available you may just be better off visiting them and see what it is like there. No amount of thinking and study can give you a proper perception of the tradition. I studied Buddhism for almost two years, but when I went to my first temple it was totally different from what I thought - in a good way! More on reddit.com

Help me pick: VaatiVidya's "Lore Bound:Elden Ring Explained" or Geoff Truscott's "Grace Given:The Mythology of Elden Ring"
Only seen Vaati's but can highly recommend. He has a great way of story telling and a well delivered narrative More on reddit.com

Beginner here: I’m feeling conflicted about choosing between Theravada and Mahayana

You can actually just start with whatever you will actually implement and feel good about. There's no reason to feel guilt about choosing Dharma door A instead of B. Suppose you go with Theravada, and at some point feel strongly that you should instead start working towards attaining buddhahood, then you can just switch. Or you'll feel great in the Theravada and go on with it. There's no problem in either case.

Practically speaking, why not try all the different options in your area that seem interesting to you? Nobody expects you to commit immediately.
