UK is known for bikes getting stolen. Abrar actually made a video of his friend’s bike getting stolen. Itchy boots bike had also got stolen but she got it back. Even thick chains are no deterrent there. Hope he gets his bike back.

I feel gutted for him. He was riding from India to UK.

Edit: It is a KTM bike and appears to be stolen on 27th or 28th August. I am still looking for more info. Some eyewitness has captured a video of the theft where it can be seen the scum pushing the bike with a moped.

I'm going to stay with my sister in England for a few months and I'm gonna buy a bike to keep over there. She's saying that if I buy a motorcycle it will 100% get stolen or vandalized. She lives in a small village near Luton. Is the crime really that bad there or is she just trying to deter me from getting a bike? She does not like motorcycles and does not want me to get one. I will most likely have to park it on the street or in a lot.

It's pretty bad in a lot of places, not just Luton. I'm north of Bedford and my husband has had two stolen, one from outside of A&E, and two additional attempts over the past 10 years. If you take proper precautions to secure it though, it's not that much of an issue. Get a decent thickness Oxford chain or similar, and a couple of disc locks. Deterrence is the best protection. Also depends on the type of bike; you get a moped or a sports bike and it's going to be targeted. get a classic or an older bike and there's less interest.

London is rife. Stolen and then used to commit other crime. We regularly report dumped stepped down bikes to the council for collection and disposal. Whatever you buy, invest in multiple security measures, they will cost less than your insurance deductible + increase after one is stolen.
